We listen.
Most clinical visits run 12 minutes. The first thing we do is take as long as it takes to understand what’s actually happening — what you’ve tried, what you’re optimizing for, what scares you, what you keep meaning to follow up on, what previous doctors never seemed to have heard.
Our intake isn’t a templated form. It’s a conversation that helps us understand key details and know you on a personal level before we proceed.
We check assumptions.
A radiology report says “stable.” But the measurements in the report show 8 mm, then 8 mm, then 10 mm — and the surgeon you saw used the change in those numbers to recommend surgery.
We pull the original images. We have a section chief of radiology re-measure all three studies to determine if you truly need surgery. We do the same for pathology slides, operative notes, echocardiograms, genetic panels. When we don’t assume, we catch errors that have lingered for years.
We find experts.
A board-certified surgeon at one institution may see your exact problem twice a year. At another institution, someone you’ve never heard of may see it twice a week and have written the paper everyone else quietly relies on.
